Bizee renewal: the free first year is not the year-2 bill
“Bizee renewal” almost always means the registered-agent line, not the formation package. Standard and Premium are one-time fees. Registered agent is free for the first year with a package, then $149/year on the card on file, every year after, until a new agent is on the state record and Bizee has been told.
What renews at Bizee and what does not
| SKU | Year 1 | After year 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Standard formation | $199 one-time + state | Does not renew |
| Premium formation | $299 one-time + state | Does not renew |
| Registered agent with a package | Free (first year, per Bizee’s default copy) | $149/year, auto-renews |
| Standalone registered agent | $149 | $149/year, auto-renews |
| Basic formation (not a headline figure) | $0 one-time + state | Does not renew; RA on Basic still renews at $149/year |
Year 2 is $149, and so is year 3
This is the page’s wedge. A free first year of registered agent is a real discount, but it is a discount on year 1 only. From year 2 the Bizee RA line is $149 a year. Over three vendor years, Standard plus RA is $199 + $149 + $149 = $497; Premium plus RA is $299 + $149 + $149 = $597. State formation and annual-report fees are not in those totals.
| Vendor / product | Year 1 | Year 2 | Year 3 | 3-year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BizeeStandard + RAStandard $199 one-time; RA free year 1 with formation, then $149/year. | $199Free year 1 | $149Renewal | $149Renewal | $497 |
| BizeePremium + RAPremium $299 one-time; RA free year 1 with formation, then $149/year. | $299Free year 1 | $149Renewal | $149Renewal | $597 |
For context on the same desk, Northwest formation plus RA is $39 + $125 + $125 = $289. The Basic + RA row ($298) exists in our data, but we do not lead with a $0 package. Full side-by-side: Northwest vs Bizee.
Standalone: $149 from day one, no intro to lose
If you bought registered agent without a Bizee formation, there is no free year and no intro price. It is $149 in year 1 and $149 every year after, $447 over three. That is the opposite shape from ZenBusiness, which sells standalone RA at $99 for year 1 and then $199/year (ZenBusiness renewal). Over three years Zen lands at $497, Bizee at $447, Northwest at $375.

How the renewal is actually charged
Bizee’s Cancellation Policy (section “Auto-Renewal Services and Price Changes,” retrieved 12 October 2026 CT) is the clearest source on the year-2 mechanics:
- The RA renewal is charged to the current card on file by Bizee’s registered agent partner. The policy names LegalInc as an example, so the charge may not say “Bizee” on your statement.
- The current renewal fee is published on the website and in the Customer Dashboard. All advertised prices can change without notice.
- You cancel RA by assigning a new registered agent with the state and notifying Bizee. If that notice is not in by the expiration date, Bizee may renew.
- Third-party charges, including RA auto-renew fees, cannot be reversed or discounted once applied to your account.
- If the auto-renewal payment fails, Bizee may cancel the RA service at its discretion.
Year 2 options, priced
| Path | Vendor cost, year 2 on | What else you pay or do |
|---|---|---|
| Stay with Bizee | $149/year | Nothing to file. Keep the card on file current. |
| Switch to Northwest | $125/year | Northwest publishes that it files the change paperwork and pays the state fee when you appoint them. You still notify Bizee. |
| Switch to ZenBusiness standalone | $99 first year, then $199/year | You file the state change and pay the state fee; the intro does not re-up |
| Serve as your own agent | $0 vendor | State change fee, your street address on the public record, and being reachable in business hours (be your own agent) |
Be honest about the size of the gap. Switching from Bizee to Northwest Registered Agent saves $24 a year on vendor fees. That is real but small; the bigger reason to move is usually service or consolidation, not price. Moving to ZenBusiness standalone saves money in its first year and costs more from the next. Staying put is a reasonable answer if you are happy with Bizee and know the $149 is coming.
Leaving Bizee is a state filing first
If you decide not to renew, canceling with Bizee is the last step, not the first. Name a successor, file the change with your secretary of state (change-only filings run $0 to $50 across the sixteen states on our change of registered agent note), then tell Bizee at (888) 462-3453 or [email protected] before the expiration date. Step by step: leave Bizee registered agent.
Questions
How much is Bizee registered agent renewal?
$149/year. Bizee’s registered-agent page lists the standalone service at $149/year, and its formation pages say RA is free for the first year with a package, then $149 a year after that (retrieved 12 October 2026 CT). The cancellation policy says the current renewal fee is shown on the website and in your Customer Dashboard.
Does Bizee registered agent auto-renew after the first year?
Yes, by default. Bizee’s cancellation policy says services may automatically renew to keep your entity in compliance, and that the registered-agent renewal is charged to the card on file by Bizee’s registered agent partner (the policy names LegalInc as an example). If Bizee is not notified of a new agent by the expiration date, it may renew.
Does the Bizee formation package renew too?
No. Basic, Standard ($199), and Premium ($299) are one-time fees plus the state fee. The thing that renews is the registered-agent line, at $149/year once the free period ends. Other add-ons you picked at checkout can carry their own renewals.
Is Bizee standalone registered agent cheaper in year 1?
No intro price. Standalone is $149 in year 1 and $149 after, so $447 over three years. ZenBusiness standalone is the opposite shape: $99 in year 1, then $199/year ($497 over three). Northwest is $125 flat ($375).
Can I get a refund on a Bizee registered agent renewal charge?
Do not plan on it. Bizee’s policy says charges imposed by third parties, including auto-renew fees for registered agent, cannot be reversed, discounted, or altered after they are applied to your account. If you are leaving, get the new agent on the state record and notify Bizee before the expiration date.
How do I stop Bizee registered agent from renewing?
Appoint a successor agent (or yourself, where your state allows), file the change with the state, then notify Bizee. That is the cancel path the policy describes. Canceling with Bizee alone does not change the agent on the public record. Full steps are on our leave-Bizee note. Filing Address does not file the change for you.
Is Incfile registered agent renewal the same thing?
Yes. Bizee publishes that Incfile is now Bizee. Older invoices and emails may still say Incfile; the $149 renewal on this page is the current Bizee product.
